La Mayor is the product of a partnership of Head Chef Montse and owner Ann Lee. In 2020, despite one of the most difficult times to plague the industry, the two had a clear vision about opening two "concepts": Vaquera Verde, the little one -- a plant-focused Mexican place situated in St. Hanshaugen -- and its big sister, La Mayor. La Mayor sets out to elevate Norwegian produce whilst wrestling out of conventional / Scandinavian perceptions of Mexican food. The restaurant aims to build an experience that captures creativity, authenticity, and soul.
